Below we inform you about the collection, processing, and use of your data.
B. Log Data
You can generally visit the websites of Volkswagen AG without telling us who you are.
We then only automatically learn the following log data:
the IP address of the computer you are using,
the operating system you are using, the web browser you are using,
the date and time of your visit,
the websites you visited on our site
The processing of log data serves our legitimate interest in ensuring the security and integrity of the CustomizedSolution eShop (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We use the hosting service provider arvato distribution GmbH, based in Germany, to provide the CustomizedSolution eShop.
Log data is deleted after 24 months.
Unless otherwise stated in the following sections, data processing is carried out exclusively by Volkswagen AG.
C. Processing of Your Personal Data for Registration to the CustomizedSolution eShop
As the CustomizedSolution eShop is a non-public web application, we check during your registration whether you are authorized to use the shop. For this purpose, we process the following personal data:
First name, Last name
Phone number
Business contact details (email address, address)
Password
Employer (dealer/importer, dealer number)
After providing this data, our service provider Volkswagen Group Services GmbH, based in Germany, checks whether you are authorized to use the CustomizedSolution eShop. The data processing as part of the registration serves the fulfillment of our Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle partner contracts and contracts with our general importers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your data will be deleted 2 years after your last login to the CustomizedSolution eShop.
D. Processing of Your Personal Data When Ordering via the CustomizedSolution eShop
When you place orders via the CustomizedSolution eShop, we process the data mentioned under section C as well as
Vehicle identification data (VIN),
Vehicle master data (model/year of manufacture, etc.)
which may be personal data if the vehicle is registered to a natural person. We process this data to handle the order and fulfill our Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle partner contracts and contracts with our general importers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your data will be deleted 2 years after the order.
E. Processing of Your Personal Data for Sending Newsletters
If you have consented, we will send you newsletters with updates about the CustomizedSolution eShop. For this purpose, we process:
First name, Last name
Business contact details (email address)
Employer (dealer/importer, dealer number)
We process this data based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect. Your data will be deleted 2 years after the newsletter was sent. In the event of a revocation, your data will no longer be used for sending newsletters.
F. Use of cookies
Volkswagen AG uses various cookies on its websites. Cookies are small files containing configuration information that are stored on your end device. Cookies can basically be divided into three categories. There are cookies which are essential for the functionality of the website (so-called functional cookies), cookies which increase the level of comfort when visiting a website by e.g. saving your language settings (so-called comfort cookies) and cookies which are used to create a pseudonymized user account (so-called tracking cookies).
Within the eShop, only functional cookies are used. While you are active on the website, a so-called session cookie (functional cookie) is temporarily stored in the memory of your end device, which contains a session ID (e.g. session cookie to ensure single sign-on). Session cookies are deleted when you log out or lose their validity as soon as your session has automatically expired. The legal basis for the use of these functional cookies and the collection of your data through them is § 25 paragraph 2 no. 2 TTDSG, as the storage is absolutely necessary due to the registration barrier in order to provide a telemedia service expressly requested by the end user. The collection and further processing of your personal data collected through the functional cookies is based on Art. 6 paragraph 1 b DSGVO ("performance of contract"). Apart from functional cookies, no other cookies (in particular comfort and tracking cookies) are used on in the eShop.

G. Your Rights
You may assert the following rights with Volkswagen AG at any time free of charge. More information about how to exercise your rights can be found in section H.
Right of access: You have the right to receive information about the processing of your personal data from us.
Right to rectification: You have the right to request the correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data concerning you.
Right to erasure: You have the right to request the deletion of your data under the conditions specified in Art. 17 GDPR. For example, you can request deletion if the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or if you withdraw your consent.
Right to restriction of processing: You have the right to request the restriction of processing under the conditions specified in Art. 18 GDPR, for example, if you contest the accuracy of your data during the time we verify it.
Right to object: If data is processed based on a legitimate interest or for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object. In case of objection, please state your reasons. You also have the right to object to profiling related to direct marketing.
Right to data portability: If processing is based on consent or a contract and is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and transmit it to another processor.
Right to withdraw consent: If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect, free of charge.
Right to complain: You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g., the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony) about our processing of your data.
